Martin Heřmanský

Martin Heřmanský is an Assistant Professor in Socio-Cultural Anthropology at
Charles University (Prague, Czech Republic). His main areas of interest are youth
subcultures, rural anthropology, body modifications, and Native Americans. His
research has included work on the transgression and agency of body piercing
among Czech youth, modes of rurality in a village in southern Slovakia, and the
construction of subcultural identity among Czech emos. He currently serves as the
President of the Czech Association for Social Anthropology (CASA).
